At WE HIKE, we embark on a journey that transcends the ordinary, inspired by a vision to bring our community outdoors and enrich lives through the transformative power of hiking. Teen Program
Sunrise Hike

Plan on arriving about 6:00 am or earlier to park and get yourself situated, and get signed in.
Come get exercise and this is a perfect place to walk, run, carry weights.
We will traverse the Franklin Foothills for 2 miles out then 2 miles back for a oppotunity to bring in the day and relax with nature. The elevation is low and teh terriain is rocky. This is beginner firendly and this is also family friendly. please have grippy shoe, hat and water.
Please do not forget your water because it’s a necessary item to always have outside for prolonged periods.
Items needed: Water, 2-3 liters minimum. Good close toed grippy shoes, a good hat for protection from the sun as there is no shade on the trail. Snacks are always good to have. Bring any medications you may personally need. Hiking poles if you like them.
This hike is family friendly - 4-5 miles.
The hike is pet friendly. Please keep pets on a leash. All welcome.
Night Hike Franklin Foothills

Join WE HIKE for a evening hike.
Come join in and learn how to hike at night, learn how to navigate the terrain and have some fun with the sunset as we hike through the Franklin Foothills.
Rocky and steep terrain and must ave grippy shoes. Walking sticks a plus if you like them. This is a up and down hike with super views.
Please have ten essentials, plenty of water in teh warnme weather and teh propeer shoes for this hike. We will be doing 3 to 5 mile depending on teh groups pace.

Join us for a full-day adventure exploring Cloudcroft! We’ll be hiking Vista Tunnel perfect for all skill levels.
Trip Details: Meet-up Location: Wal-Mart Neighborhood store MLK
Time: 2:00 PM
Fill up on gas beforehand; gas expenses will be shared among carpool groups.
What You Need to Bring:
Hiking shoes & all essential gear
Lunch, snacks, and plenty of water
Money for personal expenses, have a full tank of gas. We will stop at Mavericks in Alamogordo for a quick bathroom break.
This is an all-day trip, and you can do one, two hike and have a picnic with us or you can leave when your ready.

June 12–13: BASE CAMP EXPERIENCE / Camp
Set up camp and learn core outdoor skills:
• Backpacking basics & gear setup
• Campsite safety
• Navigation & awareness
• Leave No Trace principles
• Group instruction & skill building
June 13–14: OPTIONAL OVERNIGHT BACKPACKING
For those ready to take the next step:
• Short guided backpacking route
• Overnight backcountry experience
• Apply skills in real conditions
This structure allows participants to learn first, practice at base camp, and then choose a supported overnight backpacking experience.
